IPL Photofacial Experience

It can be a little nerve-wracking to show our bare faces out there on social media especially when we put so much effort into our social media branding in looking perfect...but here is mine, taken with the front facing camera of my phone in natural lighting around noon and 100% unedited. This was immediately after they did the prepping for my IPL treatment. For the record this would be my second treatment since I wasn't planning on writing about it I have no photos of my bare face during that time.

"Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Photofacial is a laser light treatment that targets pigment issues, such as brown spots, sun damage and red spots."

Since I am Asian the MediSpa had me prep my skin for 2 weeks by using twice a day using Hydroquinone Cream. A little goes a long way but the only complaint from me is that its' smell is not exactly pleasant (to me anyways).

The treatment is pretty simple and practically pain-free. First they prep your skin for the IPL treatment by cleaning up your face and then put a numbing cream for about 30-40 minutes. Then you are given safety glasses and zap, zap, zap!! Done in about 30 minutes. Majority was no pain but some parts may feel a slight rubberband against your face but nothing unbearable. Over the next few days you will see some darker spot on your skin and it will eventually flake off in the next week or so. My skin looked so much better after and some of the dark spots got much lighter. I didn't see as much a difference for my second treatment and most may need only 1-3 treatments and maybe once a year after that for upkeep.
